The Zawinul Foundation for Achievement, a nonprofit organization founded to honor Jazz legendary musician, Joe Zawinul, hosts its annual “Z” Award Ceremony at the Porgy and Bess jazz club in Vienna on Sat May 12, 2018. Miguel will introduce the Foundation during the ceremony, and present an award to one of the young winning musicians!

World Premiere of Concert Overture: Horizon
Miguel has just composed a new work “Concert Overture: Horizon” for symphony orchestra. The world premiere performance will take place on January 17, at 19:30 in Vienna’s Muth Theater (home of the Vienna Boys Choir) with the Horizon Youth Orchestra conducted by Paul-Boris Kertsman
Miguel records his next orchestral album featuring three new Concerti and a Chamber Symphony in London!
Virtuoso soloists Marina Piccinini (flute), Martin Kuuskmann (bassoon), Orsolya Korcsolan (violin), Gergely Sugar (horn and shofar), Conductor Dennis Russell Davies and the London Philharmonic Orchestra come together at Henry Wood Hall in London recording Miguel Kertsman’s “Concerto for Flute, Strings, and Percussion,” “Journey for Bassoon and Orchestra: I. Tallin, II. New York, III. Recife,” “Concerto for Violin, Horn, Shofar and Orchestra”, and “Chamber Symphony Nr. 2, New York of 50 Doors.”
The new album will be globally released in physical, digital and streaming formats in May 2018!
