Miguel Kertsman at Dartmouth College

Miguel Kertsman has been invited to lecture at ivy league university Dartmouth College in February 2019. He will be lecturing about Composition and Improvisation working with a group of students of wide interests from Classical Music, to Media Music Production, Law and Computer Science. 

Miguel Kertsman appears on a WFMT Radio special about Vienna, the city of Music

Miguel Kertsman was part of a WFMT Radio special, which was broadcast shortly after Christmas 2018. He joined the prestigious list of fellow musicians, who live in Vienna, the city of music.

Miguel Kertsman’s new album “3 Concertos & Chamber Symphony No. 2” got reviewed during the broadcast of the December issue of BBC Music Magazine’s monthly podcast. In the segment “first listen” Jeremy Pound, deputy editor of the magazine, describes, how Miguel Kertsman’s album has grown on him: “It’s a fascinating disc, it’s a real melting pot of repertoire. Kertsman’s style is very, very varied. He plunges everything into his music, from jazz to world music influences. It’s sometimes atonal, but it’s never inaccessible. And this disc has grown and grown on me.”

 

3 Concertos & Chamber Symphony No. 2 released globally

Miguel Kertsman’s new album release was accompanied by worldwide attention. The album featuring 4 orchestral works performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Dennis Russell Davies, was released worldwide by Naxos Records in September 2018.

Sound the Shofar!

Chicago based radio station WFMT broadcasts an hour-long special about the shofar and its ancient history. The program is a rather educational piece about the shofar, in which Miguel Kertsman’s new piece, Concerto for Violin, Horn, Shofar & Orchestra is featured among other works from the Classical literature, and exclusive interviews.

The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) – amongst others – featured the Concerto for Violin, Horn, Shofar & Orchestra in its weekly Spotify playlist!

New Orchestral Album! Global Release on Naxos Records

Miguel’s new orchestral works, recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Conductor Dennis Russell Davies, and soloists Marina Piccinini (flute), Orsolya Korcsolan (violin), Martin Kuuskmann (bassoon), Gergely Sugar (Horn and Shofar) will be available on CD, digital formats and streaming worldwide as of 14 September 2018 on the Naxos label.
