Gravity Tunnel was recorded ca. 1988/89 and originally released in 1991. As the album cover Art portrays, the record merges two musical places home to Miguel Kertsman: Recife, Brazil and New York City. The result is a broad and fun musical journey with African-Brazilian percussion, berimbaus, and ensembles spontaneously merging with soulful vocals, and of course lots of vintage keyboards.
An array of fabulous musicians/friends from the NYC and LA music scenes participated on the recordings of Gravity Tunnel… including among others:
percussionists / drummers Manoel Manny Monteiro, Ted Moore, Café Da Silva, Loremil Machado, Tony Mola; bassists Greg Jones, Russ Landau, guitarists Romero Lubambo, Ken Mazur, and Tony winner singer / Broadway star Lillias White.
