O Saci: Children’s Music Theater

Amazônica: Enter the Heart of Brazil
Amazônica is a celebration of the Brazilian people’s unique sound. It is an ethnomusicological research project also featuring compositions and performances by Miguel Kertsman, in collaboration with artistic forces including a Renaissance Music ensemble, percussion ensembles, choirs, folklore music artists and Brazilian street musicians.

This concept album is a journey through non-linear time and space! Miguel experiments on this album with his rock band, a string ensemble, a baroque voice quartet, a symphony orchestra playing backwards, and analog keyboards.

Miguel Kertsman organically “revisits” (not remixes) works from Monteverdi to Varese, from Mahler and Debussy to Alban Berg and Max Brand with help from an international group of electronic musicians and DJs including Humbucker of the Sofa Surfers, Dan the Automator of Gorillaz, Tracy Young, and many others!
Música, Mito e Mistério
At 16, Miguel Kertsman wrote all the music and most of the lyrics for his very first solo album “Música, Mito e Mistério”! The album was released in 1983 by Fermata Records in Brazil on LP / Vinyl only and is long out of print. It can occasionally be found on trade sites such as E-bay, fetching substantial bids.
